Pvt Charles H. Koons
is now a member of the 508th Parachute Infantry, in combat training at Camp Mackall, N.C.  His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Koons reside at 556 West Broadway, Red Lion  [PA].  He joined the Army Sept. 10, 1940 and won his wings as a United states Paratrooper February 16, `943.  Before entering the service, he was employed at the York County Chair factory, Red Lion.

Word has been received that Howard Krambier of Palatine has recently been promoted from Technician 4th Grade to S-Sgt.
   He is with the para-troopers and at the time he volunteered for parachute duty, there were very few qualified jumpers.

Pvt Charles T. Lantry
of Benton Harbor [MI] is now a member of the 508th parachute infantry in combat training at Camp Mackall, N.C.
   Joining the Army on October 30, 1942, Pvt Lantry received his wings as a United States parachutist last March 5.
  He is the son of Mrs. Vivian Hollis, of 639 E. High street, Benton Harbor.  He attended the Benton Harbor high school and was employed at the Big Bear market here

Technician fifth grade Edward Janson son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Janson, Smock [PA], a member of the Parachute Infantry, in combat training at Camp Mackall, N.C.  Technician Janson has been in service since February 1942.
   The 508th, made up of trained jumpers, recently returned to camp from airborne maneuvers in the field.  The commanding general, impressed by it's "excellent showing," commended "the spirit and discipline shown at all times by the men, in spite of inclement weather, fatigue, loss of sleep and hunger." The 508th is commanded by Col Roy E. Lindquist, 36, West Point Class of '30 and a pioneer parachutist.

COMPLETES PARATROOP TRAINING

    Pvt Earnest W Stewart son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo S Stewart, Freedom, has won the right to wear the "Boots and Wings" of the United States Army Paratroops. He has completed four weeks of jump training during which time he made five jumps the last a tactical jump at night involving a combat problem on landing.
   Jumping at The Parachute School has been steadily developed to a recognized war science. American Paratroopers have been recognized throughout the world for their meritorious actions against 'the enemy.
   In addition to producing jumpers Parachute Specialist Training is given to qualified men in Communications, Demolition, Riggers and Parachute Maintenance, vital skills for Airborne Troops a a I Maintenance vital skills for Airborne Troops.

Technician Filth Grade Lloyd O Cullman is row a member of the 508th Parachute Infantry in combat training at Camp Mackall N. C. He is the son of D. C. Coffman of Kilgore. He joined the Army in October 1942 and won his wings as a parachutist on March 6 1943.
