CAMP MACKALL NEWS LINE (10)

Pfc JOSEPH J. BONVILLAIN is now a member of the 508th Parachute Infantry, in combat training at Camp Mackall, NC.  He is the son of R. F. Bonvillain, 4518 Southern Ave. Pvt BONVILLAIN entered the army in October 1942, and won his wings as a parachutist March 6.  The 508th parachute infantry regiment recently returned to camp from, airborne maneuvers in the field, and was commended by the commanding general, Col Roy E. Lindquist, for its excellent showing, and 'the spirit and discipline shown at all times by the men, in spite of inclement weather fatigue, loss of sleep and hunger."

   Pvt Samuel R. Shepler, son of Mr. and Mrs.. Samuel C. Shepler, west of Millersburg [OH, is spending a 10-day furlough with his parents.  He is with Co. I, 508th Parachute Inf. at Camp Mackall, N.C.

Pfc. Lowell W. Rogers is now a member of the 508th Parachute Infantry in combat training at Camp Mackall, N. C. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Rogers, reside at 1909 S. Sixteenth street. He joined the army on September September 21, 1942.
   Before entering the service he studied at Marquette university, Milwaukee, and later worked at the U. S. War department, Chicago Ordnance district.
   The 508th Parachute regiment, made up of trained jumpers, recently returned to camp from airborne maneuvers in the field.

Pfc. Bryant C. DeLoach is now a member of the 508th Parachute Infantry, in combat training at Camp Mackall, N.C. His mother, Mrs. B. C. DeLoach, resides at 616 South Lincoln. He joined the Army last Oct 20 and won his wings as a parachutist on March 12 this year.

IS PARACHUTIST --- Master Sgt. Robert L. Johnson of Alexander is a member of the 508th Parachute Infantry in combat training: at Camp Mackall ,N, Car. He joined the army in June, 1942, and won his wings as a parachutist March 6 this year. Before entering: the service he studied at the Hamilton school of commerce and later worked for the Standard Oil company at Mason City. His wife lives at Alexander.

Cloyce Drury Honored in Albany At Family Reunion

   ALBANY, Aug. 26 --- (UPI) Sgt. Cloyce Drury, who is here on furlough from Fort Bragg, N. C.. was guest of honor for a reunion dinner when members of the families of Mrs. A. M. Kelly and her daughter. Mrs. E. P. Drury. and Mr. Drury of Killeen, met Tuesday at the home of Kelly's son. John Hightower, and Mrs. Hightower.
   Others present were Mrs. Cloyce Drury. Janis Hightower, Mr. and Mrs. Rhea Pannell and daughter, Peggy Jo. Albany; Bobbie Jean Drury. Killeen; Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Drury and ton, Freddie Killeen Mrs. Fronza White and children, LaWanda and Fonza White Jr ,Temple City. Calif.,.. Mrs. Philip Minear, San Diego.
