0700 - Regt C.O. to CP. 0700 5 rds 81 on houses to
front.
0715 - dispatched recn patrol Pvts Gross + Thomas (G), Mangers,
Vandermolen (S-2).
0915 - patrol retuned Pvt Gross shot thru elbow.
En riflemen dug in hedge lines less than 200 yds front of Co H
lines.
1200 - Lt Yoffee of 87th + 2 men + Lt Crawford 456 FA + 3 men left
Bn to return to organization
Mangers + Russell (S-2) out to look for OP covering bridge.
1225 - Co H reports 4 rds arty falling in vic CP - from W. Msg to
Regt. 1426 hrs patrol Pvts Fisher + Yackey, Co I and Pvts
Mello + Cook (S-2) on rcn N front Co I sector.
Neg rpt on C.P. for bridge from Co H area.
1500 hrs - 7 man patrol 1st Bn in for info en to our front.
Their patrol objective La Dauderie.
1545 - Interdiction for 1 hour commenced on elbow at bridge.
3rd Bn patrol in 1715 hrs. Went N fr Co I into woods held by
505 and then turned S approx 500 yds W of stream paralleling Bn
front. Stopped short of Cuitorie a/c being spotted by en and
strafing by our planes of hill S of town. 1st Bn patrol
reported in - negative results. Harassing fire fr our 81s laid
intermittingly on bridge + rd target to front. Same target
used to register in 81s of other 2 Bns. ARC* (Mr Lyche) left
tobacco rations German shelling very rare this day. |

0125 hrs - burst of firing Co I front - no info as to
reason. Same time Co H reports sound of tracked vehicle which
seemed to move N for short time on road S of elbow at bridge
(243887).
0200 - Harassing 81 rds dropped every 5 minutes along W side stream.
24 rd concentration fired 0530, same tgt and branch under
bridge.
0930 - 4 man patrol (Co G) Cpl Waltman, Pfc Walsh, Fowler, Pvt
Roland. Skirting S flank Co H to check on OPLR^^ + if possible
the road beyond bridge to N.
0945 - S-2 reports their patrol last night returning thru Co H lines
was grenaded without any challenge being made.
1025 - report via 81 pltn ldr from Co E that German patrol listened
to fire orders fr 800 yds W of platoon this AM and escaped under
cover of fog.
French civilian apprehend a/c suspicious actions and evacuated to
Regt S-2. Contacted Co E by phone - they are not sure of
identity of patrol - believe they may have been friendly troops
moving by.
1220 - Bn patrol returned after encountering riflemen + small en
patrol just W of 325 line.
1410 hrs :Lt Millsaps w/patrol 24 men cleared thru our lines.
Co H rpts still able to see movement of few en on the OPLR.
Round of art burst on Co I fwd lines 1543. Bn called for shell
