HQ 3rd BN DIARY (6 of 16)

JUNE

28 John J. Cook, S-2 Section - possible broken leg, motorcycle accident.  Sec now has 4 men.
1747 hrs broadcast sent over PA system to enemy front from Co G fwd lines. Talks prepared by psychological warfare branch out of Div.   Col Lindquist present.  Talks in Czech, Russian, Polish, German.
 29 0215 - flurry of sm arms fire in front between Co G + I (patrol?)  0240 - C G reptd Regt patrol of Lt Sheehan returning thru their front lines.  0345 - Co G rpts sound of vehicles thought to be doodle bugs and also horse drawn carts --- vicinity of road front of Co G road block.  Also some en mortar rds fell in company area.  0346 hrs - about 6 rds of en 88s from left of Co I passed over CP and landed in 505 area.  1100, Co C.O.s, S-1, Commo to CP area 1st Bn to reconnoiter for change over tonight.  2 Bn 507, 3 Os arranging to take over this position.
Duty Os last night: hourly from 1100-0500.

1755 - S-2 rep to Regt
30 By 0400 last Co + all of CP into position - former area 1st Bn.  Concealed route arranged for vehicles rear of CP.
