Capt Novak, Lt Horne, wounded, Lt Richardson missing.  507 now attacking same ridge on left flank. I am S-1, S-2, S-3* and Hq Co C.O. and will henceforth keep this log, Lt Beaver.  Moved to woods 400 yds up on rt. front, rec. arty fire.
5 Quiet from 1200 hrs on  1030 8 Rnds of our art. fell in position.  Sgt Zelinsky KIA - Co H.  + Medics clearing draw of wounded.  Rec. intrdk. enemy arty fire all day.  On Co of 79th Div. reported to be in La haye du Puits.  Picked up a few men. 
Bn strengths:
Hq Co - 80 + 6,  I Co 43 + 2,  H Co 53 + 3, G Co 72 + 2. 

Lt Scudder died.  New Art Div. officers Lts Lewis + Ray 19th F.A.  Have 5 M-10s with us now.  13:45 G Co rec. short Rnds from our arty no casu.) 20:00 H Co contacted patrol move to So. side hill 70.  Took one Polish prisoner (turned over to 507) and located abandoned chateau with much German equip. in it (20 in.. rockets, 8 mm mortors [sic], 2 types of auto rifles, many mines, 12 byayles [sic], 20 German dead in area, est that it was
